This needle distributor can increase extraction and reduce portafilter clogging.
When pressed down, the base with the needles lowers and rotates according to the principle of concentric circles. 14 needles in different positions create 14 tracks, resulting in an even distribution of the coffee grounds and improving extraction performance. The rotation breaks up any coffee lumps and evenly distributes the density of the coffee in the puck. The result is a reduction in channeling and a consistent extraction.
The depth is adjustable so that this needle distributor can be used with different sieves.
The entire WDT tool is made of high-quality materials. The handle and base are made of aluminum alloy (the base is additionally coated with a silicone ring), and the 14 needles (plus 6 spare needles) are made of stainless steel (SUS304).
The needle tips have a diameter of just 0.25 mm. This allows this WDT tool from MHW 3Bomber to achieve finer adjustments than conventional WDT tools. Additionally, magnets are integrated into the base for precise positioning and retention.
When not in use, the needles are hidden in the base so the tool can be easily stored.
